Hello,
I like using a good moisturiser for my oily, acne prone skin and I usually tend to lean towards the oil free versions. I thought of picking up the Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer as a change and having used it for many months here is my review.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance
The Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is housed in a sleek, airless pump up bottle with a transparent lid. The bottle is sleek light weight, very travel friendly. The bottle has a cap which fits in perfectly and won’t open on it’s own if you tuck it in your vanity bag or skincare bag. The texture of the moisturizer looks like gel in cream although upon application it is very mattifying and just vanishes onto the skin. The product has typical Green Tea Range fragrance which the brand has. Fragrance is little lingering and might be a little bothering to the sensitive nose.
My experience with Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer
I have tried the Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer way back in 2018 as it is highly raved. That time I did experience little pore clogging but I just thought it might be due to some other products in my routine. Now fast forward in 2021, I don’t experience any cystic acne, all thanks to my esthetician.
I have been using oil free moisturizer since my consultation and I picked up Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer as a change for the same. So now coming to the review, the moisturizer mattifies very quickly and doesn’t leave any residue on the skin. You will not even know how and when it mattified while you are busy trying to pay the moisturizer into your skin. If the weather is little hot or if it is summer my face will sweat a lot after using this moisturizer. This very fact made me not to use the moisturizer beneath a sunscreen. I just didn’t use it with my sunscreen as my oily skin is very clog prone.
I regularly used this moisturizer only to notice that it increases my white heads and have got them all over my cheeks too. The white heads on nose are very noticeable while using this moisturizer. As of now am using this moisturizer once or twice per week and not daily as I used to initially. Inspite of having glycolic acid as one of the ingredients I don’t know if some ingredients which are little pore clogging, might be increasing my whiteheads.
The white heads can be easily controlled by following a double cleanse but then following a double cleanse just because a moisturizer gives me whiteheads is not my forte. I would easily skip such moisturizers as my skin is pretty okay after a rigorous regime of retinoids and like to keep it simple in this hectic life.
I don’t know if it is just my skin or anyone else has experienced the same especially the ones with oily acne prone skin. The fact that this moisturizer gave me so many whiteheads on my cheeks, makes me feel very sad. This is one moisturizer which has definitely disappointed me and I absolutely regret my decision. I love the new Oil free version they have.

Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer
I expected a lot more out of this moisturizer and picked it up as a change for oil free moisturizer. However this one makes my skin sweat and gives me white heads on my nose and cheeks. If you have a skin type which gets clogged up easily, I would suggest you to stay away from this moisturizer. The white heads and pore clogging can be controlled by double cleanse and if you follow that then go ahead and use the moisturizer. Hope you like it too. Just remember to pick it up on discount.
