Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The product is packed in a blue, plastic flat tub. This is super travel friendly and absolutely doesn’t leak. The tub had a silver foil the first time you open it and needs to be removed. The texture of the Ponds Superlight Gel is watery gel which doesn’t slip as such but has bouncy consistency. It gets absorbed into my oily skin super fast without any oily or greasy feeling. The product has a little artificial fragrance which am absolutely not good at describing. The fragrance doesn’t last long and is absolutely non lingering. Sensitive skin types might have to skip this product due to artificial fragrance.

My experience with Ponds Super Light Gel

The moisturiser is super light weight and spreads easily across the face without any hassle. Now if you have used any gel based product you might have experienced how some gels just slip from your fingers when you try applying them. The Pond’s oil free gel neither leave any sticky residue behind nor gives any heavy feel after applying in excess. If applied in excess the my face sweats a lot so I tend to apply in less quantity while using it beneath a sunscreen.

HA ingredients to look for in any skincare product are as hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium acetylated hyaluronate and/or sodium hyaluronate. Pond’s Super Light Gel contains both hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid (which works on surface level) and sodium hyaluronate (which works on deeper level).

The product gives instantly smooth feel to the skin while moisturising it. It doesn’t plump up the skin like other aloe gels. The product has silicone (Dimethicone) in it. Dimethicone works as a film that prevents the loss of water through the skin, thus keeping the skin moisturised. This is very important for the a Hyaluronic Acid based product. It also works as an emollient, filling the spaces between cracks in the skin.

Cons

  1. Pond’s is not a cruelty free brand

  6. Does not provide 24-hour moisturization as claimed by the brand

Ponds Super Light Gel Review

The light weight gel texture of the product and the way it works my oily skin is very nice. The price point of the product makes it a winner along with commendable ingredients as well as performance. The product lasts long as only a pea sized amount is needed for each use. I would however suggest this moisturiser only for combination and oily skin types. Dry skin and normal skin will need an extra layer of moisturiser. Ponds Superlight Gel is the best and affordable Hyaluronic Acid based, oil free, paraben free moisturiser available for oily skin in India. I so wish Pond’s goes cruelty free and stops testing it’s products on animals.

Pond’s Superlight Gel contains ingredients like Niacinamide, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid which are not present in Hydro Boost Water Gel.
