The Derma Co Review

Last updated on 5 April, 2024

I have used many products from The Derma Co and today I will be writing a short review of Derma Co Products that I have used in the past or using right now. The two sunscreens I have used from the brand worked really well for my oily acne prone skin. Recently I have also added their AHA BHA peel and Vitamin C Serum in my routine and would give you all a brief of that too. Let’s get started with The Derma Co Review.

The Derma Co Review

Derma Co Ultra Matte Sunscreen Gel

Derma Co Ultra Matte Sunscreen Gel is an oil free sunscreen that blends in easily and provides broad-spectrum protection of SPF 60 PA++++. It gives a smooth, primer like matte look with its lightweight formulation. It doesn’t clog pores or cause any acne for my oily and acne prone skin. The fact that it doesn’t irritate the eyes and can be removed easily with any oil based cleanser makes it a good one to be used on a daily basis. It is a good oil free sunscreen for oily skin in India. It is definitely the best bet for oily, acne prone skin. However, people who don’t like silicones or chemical filters in their sunscreen may not like it.

Derma Co 2% Salicylic Acid Clay Mask

Derma Co Salicylic Acid Face Mask is a good product for acne prone skin to keep acne as well as whiteheads at bay with regular use. It has clay as well to detox and revitalize the skin along with preventing acne and maintaining the skin texture. The clay mask can be little drying for some people but that’s nothing a good moisturiser can’t fix. I would say this is a must have face mask if you have oily, acne prone skin. Just get it!! It can be termed as best clay mask in India.

Derma Co 1% Hyaluronic Sunscreen Aqua Gel

I like the texture of this one, but after using the Ultra Matte Sunscreen Gel I think this is more suitable for normal and dry skin types than oily ones. Derma Co Sunscreen Gel is an all in one serum plus moisturizer kind of sunscreen. It contains 1% Hyaluronic Acid which intensely hydrates the skin while making the sunscreen application easy. The product doesn’t leave any white cast and readily absorbs into the skin. The formulation being non oil free, some may find it a little heavy especially the oily, acne prone skin types. The fact that this sunscreen falls under the 500 INR bracket, applies like a dream, has SPF 50 and offers PA++++ sun protection makes it a very popular one in the market. It can also be found on discounts often. If you are looking for an affordable sunscreen for regular use then give this one a try and see how it goes for your skin.

Derma Co Chemical peel

I got this peel after the Plum Green Tea Beginner friendly peel. The Derma Co peel tingles if you try to apply a lot of quantity on a small area of the skin. If you are new to chemical exfoliation, still this won’t be the good choice to start your chemical exfoliation journey. The peel does cause little purging and may cause irritation and redness when used in extra quantity. It unclogs the pores nicely and keeps acne, whiteheads at bay.

The Derma Co 1% Ceramide Complex Jelly Daily Cleanser

Derma Co Milky Jelly Daily Cleanser stays true to it’s claims of improving the skin barrier. It cleanses the skin gently while making it soft and smooth. It is a good cleanser for all skin types not only as a morning cleanser but also as a second cleanser while using an emulsifying oil cleanser. If you are looking out for a cleanser that makes the skin squeaky clean then this cleanser isn’t for you. Those looking out for a face wash for sensitive skin or are into chemical exfoliation or have dehydrated skin they should definitely try this cleanser.

Derma Co 3% AHA BHA Foaming Face Wash

This is a little extra exfoliating face wash and needs to be used very carefully. It reduces the whiteheads in one go but may dry out the skin. It is definitely not good one for dry, normal and sensitive skin type. Once can’t use this face wash on a thrice per week basis. Please don’t use it if you don’t want any purging while using a AHA BHA based face wash. I didn’t get a chance to review this face wash, maybe I will purchase it and post a review soon.

The Derma Co 20% Vitamin C Face Serum

A good vitamin C Serum in the Indian market that reduces dullness of the skin and doesn’t cause much irritation. I have used 20% Vitamin C serums and thus my skin has already built a good tolerance to Vitamin C Serum. However that may not be the case with everyone. The serum is non sticky yet plumps the skin nicely. It also works well under a moisturizer. I haven’t use it beneath a sunscreen so won’t be able to comment on that part. The product isn’t packed in a dark coloured glass bottle and may have higher chances of being oxidised. So please keep a check on the storage of the serum.

We hope you find these short reviews useful while making a purchase. We will keep on adding the products to this blog post of The Derma Co Review if we try out any other products from their range.
