Dot and Key Review

Last updated on 8 November, 2024

I have used purchased many products from Dot and Key that I have reviewed from time to time on my blog. Today I will be writing a short review of Dot and Key products that I have used in the past or I am using right now. The two sunscreens I have used from the brand worked really well for my oily acne prone skin. Recently I have also added their ceramide moisturizer and retinol eye cream in my routine and would give you all a brief of that too. Let’s get started with Dot and Key Review.

Dot and Key review

Dot and Key Watermelon Sunscreen Review

It is a hydrating, oil-free, hybrid sunscreen that blends into the skin nicely and provides broad-spectrum protection of SPF 50+ PA+++. It gives a hydrating effect with a dewy finish owing to its lightweight, hydrating formulation. Moreover, it doesn’t clog pores or cause any acne for my oily and acne-prone skin. The fact that it doesn’t irritate the eyes and can be easily removed with any oil-based cleanser makes it a good one to be used daily. It is apt to use this one on a regular basis especially in monsoons and winters since it’s not much sweat proof or waterproof. Do give it a try if you are looking for a budget friendly sunscreen.

Dot & Key Retinol Eye Cream Review

An affordable, value for money, retinol based eye cream that actually shows effects on dark circles. It neither contains any fragrance nor any essential oils. Rich, fast absorbing yet non sticky, non oily texture is what makes it special to use regularly. I enjoy using Dot and Key eye cream in my night time routine. It shows effects on dark circles with regular use of months. It’s definitely on my repurchase list as I really love using it. Although I wouldn’t say that this is a must have under eye cream due to the presence of retinol in it as it may not suit everyone.

Dot and Key Strawberry Dew Daily Cleansing Balm

Dot and Key cleansing balm is a new launch. It is cleansing balm that gives clean, smooth and dewy skin. I feel it’s the most affordable, daily use makeup/sunscreen remover. It will work good an as oil cleanser for all skin types. Moreover, the balm works great to deeply cleanse the skin without stripping off excess oil. It moisturizes and plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of pores with regular use. The texture needs to be melted to work with and is gentle on eyes as well. I can definitely say this is one of the best cleansing balms in India!

Dot and Key Salicylic Acid Serum Review

The serum is gentle in nature and works slowly yet steadily on reducing the acne. It considerably reduces the appearance of whiteheads, blackheads and pores as well as sebaceous filaments with consistent use. I would say this salicylic acid serum can be easily used on alternate days provided you don’t have any other actives in your skincare routine. The serum doesn’t tingle or cause irritation even on broken skin. In my opinion it is a good salicylic acid serum to try out for mild to moderate acne caused by clogged pores. Although I wouldn’t say this is the best salicylic acid serum in India, it’s a good one to try once.

Dot and Key CICA Niacinamide Night Gel Review

Contrary to the Cica Niacinamide tag of the moisturizer, this works nice as a light weight gel based ceramide moisturizer. Dot and Key Cica Niacinamide Night Gel also contains tea tree essential oil that may be helpful in taming away mild acne. I like using Dot and Key Cica Niacinamide Night Gel as it hydrates the skin. I would however suggest to use this moisturiser occasionally (not daily) for combination and oily skin types. Dry skin and normal skin will need an extra layer of moisturiser.

Dot and Key Probiotic Gel Moisturizer Review

I am mighty impressed with Dot and Key probiotic moisturizer. It sufficiently hydrates the skin and keeps excess sebum oil at bay. I have used the moisturizer for almost 2 months and have then posted the review. Dot and Key probiotic moisturizer is the best hyaluronic acid and probiotic based, oil free moisturizer in India. I would however suggest this moisturiser only for combination and oily skin types. Dry skin and normal skin will need an extra layer of moisturiser.

Dot and Key Watermelon Face Wash Review

This watermelon face wash cleanses, brightens and hydrates the skin with each use. However, it doesn’t work much on whiteheads or leaves the skin squeaky clean. The face wash brightens the skin considerably and has a sweet and mild watermelon fragrance which makes the experience worth it. Dot and Key Watermelon Face Wash is more suitable as a morning cleanser and/or as a second cleanser in double cleansing. It will work good for dry, normal and sensitive skin types rather than oily, acne prone skin type. Grab it at a discount and you won’t regret using the face wash.

Dot and Key Cica Face Wash Review

After using this face wash I can definitely say that it is a good one to tame under the skin acne and congested pores. Moreover, it does not dry out the skin even if you use it twice per day but check out for signs of dryness or irritation if you have dry, normal skin type. The product is quite affordable and you get a good quantity too. Dot & Key Cica Face Wash is formulated with a bunch of acne fighting ingredients such as Salicylic acid, Cica, Green tea and Tea Tree Leaf Oil. It mildly exfoliates the skin to reduce and clear clogged pores. This SLS free face wash for oily and acne-prone skin kills acne causing bacteria, reduces active acne & prevent further breakouts.

Dot and Key French Pink Clay Face Mask Review

This clay mask fortified with French pink clay and Vitamin C from Kakadu Plum deep cleanses to make the skin glow. It helps in mildly exfoliating the skin while giving a brighter looking skin. However the glow doesn’t last too long. If you are simply looking for a good non drying clay mask for detox purpose of your skin then pickup this clay mask. If you want an exfoliating and brightening clay mask checkout Derma Co Salicylic Acid Face Mask. You may skip buying this mask as we have other better than these clay masks.

Dot & Key Barrier Repair Face Cream with Ceramides

The texture of this ceramide moisturizer made me feel that it would suit my oily skin but it is a little pore clogging for me. Light weight, airy texture based ceramide moisturizer from Dot and Key is suitable for only dry to normal skin types. Affordable price, sufficient quantity, light weight, fragrance free mositurizer that you should give it a try at least once. I do like the product but my skin doesn’t like it as I tend to get some under the skin bumps while using this one. the product is forumulated for dry and normal skin types so I cannot complain much.
