Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Review

Last updated on 8 December, 2023

Before traveling I picked up Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser. I wanted a face wash in a small bottle so that it could fit my skincare bag while traveling and is also easy to carry around. I am not too happy with the face wash and was simply using since I didn’t carry any other face wash. Let’s check the Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Review.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The 50ml packaging of the facial cleanser has a flip top cap whereas the 200ml pack has a pump up packaging. Facial cleanser has a gel texture that is runny in consistency. It has a slight brown tinge to it which isn’t much noticable when the face wash is dispensed on the palm. The product has a little clinical fragrance that’s not too bothering. I have seen some people complain about it, however I don’t have any problem with me.

My experience with Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser

The face wash lathers quite nicely but you have to work upon the lather a little bit. I picked up the face wash during my travels amidst scorching summers.

The cleansing action can be described mild in nature. The face wash gets washed off easily and cleanses the skin quickly. Although, it didn’t make the skin squeaky clean as with other face washes. It neither irritates the skin nor causes any damage to the skin barrier. I didn’t like the fact that this facial cleanser didn’t give me any squeaky clean feel on the t-zone of my face.

I was also using an oil free moisturizer during my travels. So whenever I used the face wash day and night, my oily skin felt dehydrated with a couple of zits. The trick here is to lather the face wash and then work upon your skin rather than rubbing the facial cleanser directly onto the face.

I experienced a cystic acne near my ear on face and I didn’t see any effects on it even after using the face wash for 7 days. The product contains salicylic acid but the concentration of it is unknown. For people who have mild acne, this might help in reducing the same.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Review

Pros

  • Contains salicylic acid but concentration is unknown
  • Exfoliates the skin and unclogs pores in a very very mild way
  • May help reduce acne due to pore clogging
  • Regular use of face wash does work to improve the complexion
  • Neither irritates the skin nor causes any damage to the skin barrier
  • Doesn’t dry out the skin even with twice a day usage
  • Gets washed off easily

Cons

  • Doesn’t give a squeaky clean feel
  • Might not work on whiteheads or cystic acne
  • Might make the skin dehydrated if you are using an oil free moisturizer

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Review

According to me this face wash isn’t a must have for oily, acne prone skin. We do have AHAglow face wash and Cipla Saslic Face wash that work better than Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser. The face wash exfoliates the skin and unclogs pores in a very mild way, that it may not show any visible difference. Since I don’t experience much acne, I can’t say this works or not. Although with regular use the face wash does work to improve the complexion. Please don’t expect this to work on whiteheads or cystic acne or excess sebum production.
