Does Juicy Chemistry Damask Rose & Fig Lip Balm help with pigmented lips?

Last updated on 26 May, 2021

Lip balms are to lips what moisturizers are to face. Lip balms are designed to moisturize and protect the lip skin. I personally like to try out different lip balms. Ayesha, one of my fellow bloggers gifted me the Juicy Chemistry Damask Rose & Fig Lip Balm in January 2021. I have been using the lip balm since two months and thought of penning down the review for you all.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The lip balm is housed in an amber coloured glass tub with a metal lid. The glass tub is pretty thick and so compact that it will even fit in a small pouch of coins. The texture of the balm is little oily and isn’t thick. It glides nicely onto the lips. The lip balm as such doesn’t have any color. It is a plain, cream colored lip balm. Talking about the fragrance, it smells of roses with a hint of geranium. I will talk about the fragrance in detail in next section my experience.

Juicy Chemistry Lip Balm Review

My experience with Juicy Chemistry lip balm

When I received the product it was freshly made and the rose essential oil fragrance was strong. I didn’t use the lip balm regularly. After that I decided to use it regularly. The rose essential oil fragrance slowly faded over a period of few weeks and is now very faint. It just uplifts the mood now with its barely there fragrance. To be honest, I love the faded fragrance of rose essential oil of the Juicy Chemistry lip balm more than the fresh one. I can even sniff a bit of geranium along with fig oil.

Talking about the consistency, the balm isn’t thick or waxy and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. It melts with a touch of a finger and is pretty easy to scoop out. When applied to the lips, it feels light like a layer of oil. It doesn’t stay on the lips for a long time and can feel as if we haven’t applied anything. The consistency makes the staying power less and fading off easy, if someone has the habit of licking the lips.

Coming to the efficiency, the lip balm moisturizes the lips well when used consistently day by day, week by week. The lips become soft, plump and moisturized with regular use. If you have the habit of licking your lips, this balm wouldn’t be of much help. I apply an extra amount of the Juicy Chemistry Lip balm to reap the benefits. Due to its oily nature, it has helped me zip my lips while sleeping :D. I would love if the consistency of the lip balm was a little thick, so that it easily doubles up as a lip mask too.

The lip balm has some notable ingredients like castor oil, fig oil, rose essential oil, geranium oil to name a few. I have been observing my lips turning pink ever since I started using it very regularly. This might be an effect of the rose essential oil in the lip balm coupled with the reduced sun exposure these days. I don’t even apply the lip balm during the day and just use it as night time treatment like a lip mask. The only rule am following is not licking my lips at all. If you have severe lip dehydration or are someone who licks the lips then this lip balm wouldn’t show immediate effects as per your expectations. Am summing up my review in next section.

Juicy Chemistry Damask Rose & Fig Lip Balm Review

Juicy Chemistry lip balm is made with interesting ingredients like rose essential oil, geranium oil, castor oil, fig oil to name a few. The lip balm moisturizes and makes the lips soft with consistent use. I could find a noticeable difference in my lip pigmentation by using the lip balm. Although the texture of the lip balm is not thick and turns out be oily when we apply onto the lips. With such amazing ingredients, I would love this balm to be little thick so that it can be used as lip mask during the night. The fragrance of rose essential oil feels a bit overwhelming when it’s freshly made. Over a period of time it literally smells like heaven of rose petals. Overall speaking I like the lip balm for it’s efficacy in making the lips pink and moisturizing them with consistent use.
