Pond’s BB Cream Review

Last updated on 5 February, 2024

I have tried many BB creams only to realize they absolutely don’t compliment my skin tone. My skin tone is fair to medium which is a bit pinkish. I picked up BB cream Pond’s after trying out Garnier BB cream, Lakme CC cream (in shades beige and bronze) both.

Let’s get into the review of the Ponds BB Cream Review in the both the shades

Ponds BB Cream Shades

Pond’s has come up with new pack as well as shades. So I picked up the small tube of both the shades which are labelled as Ivory and Natural now. The brand needs to come up with more then two shades to suit all skin tones. Ivory shade suits me perfectly when used in little quantity. Natural shade makes me look a little tanned. My MAC shade is NC 35. Sometimes I mix both the shades in equal quantities and use them.

  1. Ivory – For light to medium skin tone
  2. Natural – For medium to deep medium skin tone

How to use Ponds BB cream?

You can directly apply for the skin with your fingers spreading and blending at the same time.

Packaging, Colour, Consistency and Fragrance

The packaging is quite travel friendly and is housed in pink tube with a pink cap. Nonetheless the packaging is compact and can even fit into your small vanity bag. The shade I have is Ivory one which perfectly matches my skin. The product has a nice fragrance which is more of a cosmetics’ fragrance. The fragrance feels very nice and doesn’t feel over powering or isn’t much lingering. The consistency of the cream is very nice and it blends very easily into the skin without being tacky or oily.

My experience with Pond’s BB Cream

The product, as stated above, has a satiny finish without any sticky or oily or greasy feel. The cream blends and spreads easily on the skin and matches my skin tone perfectly. On one occasion I applied the cream and was out roaming in the sun from 9 am to 3 pm. In spite of the harsh and hot sun rays the product did not sweat a bit or did not make my skin oily. I didn’t even use a compact powder on top of it or didn’t do any touch ups as such. Even after being out for so much time my otherwise oily skin was looking pretty good.

Ponds BB Cream Review

No sweat Formula
The best thing is that it doesn’t even sweat upon immediate application or even after some time or some hours. Now let me tell you why this is utmost important. Any sun protecting cream or lotion if it sweats the sun protecting agents in them become less or zero effective. Pond’s BB cream has absolutely nailed the formula with a sweat proof SPF 30 which offers light coverage plus sun protection.

Natural looking glow
Now coming to the claim of colour matching to the skin tone while giving a natural glow. This holds very true in case of the shade Ivory for my fair to medium skin tone. The product gives a medium coverage while making the acne marks look ashy. But it definitely conceals the pores on the nose and the face. I don’t suffer much from pigmentation issues especially around the mouth, so this coverage is sufficient for me. However the product might look ashy on the pigmented areas or dark acne marks.

It doesn’t work on dark circles much, I still like to apply the cream on my under eye areas to reduce the oiliness of my eye lids and it perfectly does this job (applying a liner and kajal totally preps up my droopy eyes). Keeping in mind the performance, price and formula of the BB cream, I find this as a very minor point, because no BB cream can really conceal your acne marks or pigmentation perfectly. If you apply the product in excess it will end up looking very artificial and cakey.

Non comedogenic

Now coming to the non comedogenic formula claim, the cream absolutely doesn’t clog pores or give any bumps post usage or with daily usage. My skin is oily and acne prone and this cream perfectly suits my skin. I like how it gives me an even toned skin while not giving me any acne. Another point I would like to mention is that I always apply this BB cream over a light weight moisturizer or sometimes I even skip using a moisturizer beneath it and it perfectly works in both the cases. However after talking about so many good things of the product I have mentioned some negative points of the product below in Cons section.

Pros

  • Gives a natural glow to the skin while giving an even skin tone
  • Blends and spreads easily across the face
  • Paraben, Alcohol Free Formula
  • Instant spot coverage of light acne marks
  • Has SPF 30 for sun protection
  • Non comedogenic Formula
  • Light texture which blends easily into the skin
  • Non oily or non sticky texture
  • Doesn’t make the skin oily or greasy after immediate application or even after several hours
  • Doesn’t make me sweat at all
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Can be used on daily basis
  • Very affordable BB cream
  • Travel friendly, stylish and super sleek packaging
  • Gets absorbed into the skin nicely after some hours without causing any problem

Cons

  • More than two shades should be available to cater to all skin tones
  • Dry skin will need a moisturizer beneath the BB cream
  • Contains silicone
  • Not fungal acne safe
  • Gives ashy look to the dark acne marks and pigmentation
  • Pond’s is a not cruelty free brand
  • Requires an oil based cleanser to remove the product

Ponds BB Cream Review

I would highly recommend you to try the Pond’s BB cream once as they have very small tube available. The light to medium coverage it offers with a sweat proof formula without making the skin oily is amazing. The cream blends in very easily without the help of any cosmetic tool and this makes the product worth an investment. The product is affordable, easily available and apt for day to day use. Moreover the application and touch up is hassle free. However if you are into cruelty free products or brand then this is not a good option as Pond’s is not a cruelty free.
