Foxtale Vitamin C Serum Review

Last updated on 22 August, 2024

After trying out a couple of vitamin C serums I am back with another vitamin C serum review. This is my first time using a cream based vitamin C serum having a pure form of Vitamin C that is L-Ascorbic acid. I have been using the serum ever since I received it at the end of February. However, I was not using it consistently and started noticing effects in the second week with consistent use. Let’s check out the Foxtale Vitamin C Serum review.

Foxtale Vitamin C Serum

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The product is packed in an airless pump packaging. The bottle also comes with a small protective cap for the dispenser. Nonetheless I find this packaging very useful as compared to the glass dropper packaging. This one is easy to use as well as travel with. The texture of the serum is cream that isn’t heavy or buttery. The product is white in colour. The product has a slightly off fragrance that I personally do not like. It doesn’t linger much after applying.

My experience with Foxtale Vitamin C Serum

Application of the serum didn’t give me any tingling sensation throughout my usage. The formulation has 15% Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) along with 1% Vitamin E (Tocopherol) and Dicaprylyl Carbonate. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant whereas Dicaprylyl Carbonate works as an emollient in the formulation.

The serum is easily absorbed into the skin without any sticky or heavy feeling. It not only sinks into the skin beautifully but also works well with the layering method. I usually like to layer up with a moisturizer (PM routine) in case any irritation occurs. The brand has mentioned to use day and night, however my skin felt a little uncomfortable while doing so and I switched to just alternative days in my PM routine once. Also after applying the serum, in a few moments the skin feels little even toned. If you use vitamin c serum regularly you will know what I am referring to here.

I can notice a considerable amount of effects on my acne marks which were pinkish in colour. It has a clarifying effect on my skin as I can see how my left cheek has been looking clear with the reduction of acne marks. It also brightens up the skin by reducing the dullness while exfoliating the whiteheads slightly. My skin is oily acne prone and I have mild whiteheads.

Foxtale Vitamin C Serum review

I can see a slight difference in my acne marks, especially the fresh ones. I also make sure to use sunscreen diligently while using the serum. Speaking of pigmentation at the corner of my lips, I have not seen much difference. Pigmentation takes a lot of time to reduce and given the clarifying effect of the serum on the rest of my face I am not even complaining.

The product contains pure form of Vitamin C Serum that has the tendency to oxidise quickly. The brand has taken precautionary measures to prevent the oxidation of serum in the form of airless pump packaging as well as by formulating the serum in cream form. However as an end user, one must take other measures like not exposing the product to direct sunlight and by storing it in cool and dark place. Also keep on checking whether the product changes colour or not. The fact that the brand has mentioned every single detail in their FAQ section of Vitamin C Serum product page is very appealing to me.

Foxtale Vitamin C Serum Review

I would have loved if this vitamin C serum would have been with a stable form of Vitamin C. But since it works nicely on my skin I would say Foxtale Vitamin C Serum is one of the affordable options of vitamin C serum available in India. It brightens up the skin, exfoliates the whiteheads up to a certain extent and considerably reduces acne marks. The texture is good for layering up your skincare products. Moreover, the product is affordable and can be availed on discount and the brand makes it even easier to test it out before purchasing by making it available in 15ml packs. I didn’t have any high expectations from the serum and it has definitely been a satisfactory vitamin C serum.
