Sunscreen should be used during winters as well as when you are indoors. I have been lucky enough to find yet another good sunscreen which works best for my oily, acne prone skin. Texture, Fragrance and Packaging
The texture of the sunscreen is cream with little oil feel and doesn’t gets applied like a gel. The product has a little clinical fragrance which isn’t irritating or lingering. The packaging of the product is simple tube as shown in pics. The product sometimes oozes out oil sort of thing from the tube.
My experience with La Shield Sunscreen Gel Sunscreen
I have oily and acne prone skin so I usually avoid any product which is heavy in oil or emulsifiers. La Shield Sunscreen Gel is a moisturizing sort of sunscreen which on it’s own feels a little oily on the skin once you apply. The oil free claims of La Shield Sunscreen Gel might make you feel that you need a moisturizer beneath but that’s not the case if you have oily or combination skin type.
Although for review purpose, I have used the product with and without moisturizer. It works better without moisturizer than with moisturizer. I usually use Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel or Hyalugel Hyaluronic Acid Gel beneath any sunscreen, but for La Shield Sunscreen Gel I didn’t even feel to use gel based ones. With moisturizer this sunscreen will feel oily for people with oily, acne prone skin. If you apply it on body, you will notice a sheen after application.
I have used the sunscreen regularly for 4 weeks and am fully satisfied with the performance of the La Shield Sunscreen Gel. The sunscreen does not make my face sweaty or give me any acne. I have also been out in afternoons with a mask on my face, after applying this sunscreen and it absolutely didn’t make my nose sweat. The main thing is to remove the sunscreen before calling it a night else it can clog pores or give acne. The sunscreen is tough to remove with a normal face wash. I usually use SLS or SLES based face wash. If you are into double cleansing then it is highly recommended to follow double cleansing while using this sunscreen.
The sunscreen doesn’t crumble while you apply and is to be used just like you use your moisturizer. The point here being it’s oil free and yet it’s very moisturizing sort on it’s own. It’s better to avoid applying a moisturizer if you have oily skin. Keeping in mind the current winters I think it is working well for my oily skin, I don’t think I see myself using this in hot summers.
It also contains good photo stable sunscreen agents except Octinoxate which is stabilized by other sunscreen agents. The product does leave a little white cast when we apply the sunscreen with a three finger rule but settles down in a while. Surprisingly the product has a claim of being preservative free and after analyzing the ingredients, it’s indeed true.
Also this sunscreen will be suitable for people with dry, normal, combination to oily skin as it is a little moisturizing one and doesn’t crumble if you try to apply on a dry skin or rub it fast in two opposite directions on the skin. Currently am enjoying the sunscreen and I am going to repurchase it again.

Summing Up
La Shield Sunscreen Gel SPF 40 PA+++ is a sunscreen am enjoying right now in the winters for my oily and acne prone skin. The oil free and non comedogenic formula is good for oily, acne prone skin. Although using a moisturizer underneath would be little heavy for oily skinned beauties. The sunscreen doesn’t sweat at all in winters at least which is a huge plus for me. I don’t know how it will behave in summers but am sure to not use any moisturizer beneath while using it, irrespective of the season. I would recommend dry, normal, combination to oily skin type people to try La Shield Sunscreen Gel SPF 40 PA+++ once due to the photo stable sunscreen agents it has.
