I bought the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Mini Duo from Myntra during the EOSS at a whopping discount of 50%. The Laneige lip masks were on my wishlist since too long and I felt this is the best time to get them. After using the lip masks for about 2 months, here are my thoughts whether they are worth the hype or not.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance
The lip masks are cute, plastic tubs that are color coded according to the lip mask flavour or variant. These are available in 3g, 8g and 20g as well. The product has a thick, buttery yet gooey texture which melts upon contact of fingers. The consistency is kind of sticky (in a good way) and stringy which essentially makes the formula stay on lips all night long. The fragrance varies according to the variant you pick. I have Gummy Bear and Sweet Candy variants. Sweet Candy has a sweet candy like flavour whereas Gummy Bear one has berry kind of feel to it! I like Sweet Candy more than the Gummy Bear one. The fragrance is addictive and you will feel like reaching out to them often. The lip mask duo has outer box packaging and individual box packaging as well which carries all the information about ingredients and other important details.
My experience with the Laneige Lip Masks
The lip masks are formulated to lock in the moisture overnight while soothing dry and chapped lips. A few days in, and they do leave your lips feeling soft and smooth by morning. The masks stay on without feeling heavy or greasy with a slight residue in the morning which might just go away while you brush your teeth.
My lips feel plump, hydrated and soft. After few weeks of regular night time use, severely chapped lips during the winter also feel smoother and more supple. The lip masks actually improve the condition of lips in a few days. I have used many lip balms over the years, but these are effective in terms of overnight use so that one doesn’t have to reach out to them during the day.
Ingredients such as vitamin C, berry extracts, murumuru butter, shea butter, hyaluronic acid help draw moisture, soften the lips and repair them overnight. This explains why it’s a lip sleeping mask rather than a lip balm. If you are looking for an organic lip balm then this is not for you. You can stick to the Juicy Chemistry Lip balms for that. I love Juicy Chemistry ones as well and wouldn’t want to compare both the brands.
If you keep on licking your lips during the day then no lip balm or lip mask will prevent them from chapping.
Are Laneige Lip Sleeping Masks worth the price?
Yes, since they work for me, I would recommend them. I like how my lips feel soft, smooth and supple every morning. These are best suited for dry, chapped, dehydrated lips, especially in colder weather. The lip masks are also recommended if you are into matte lipsticks since they soften the lips a lot. If you prefer a lightweight or organic daytime balm, these may feel heavy. You will toss your daytime lip balm for this ultimate lip care duo. With reviews being hyped up on social media, I didn’t expect miraculous effects from the lip masks, however I am genuinely happy and suprised and I get the hype now. If you are not sure about getting 8g product, try the 3g one. These last for an insane amount of time because little goes a long way.
