Dr. Sheth’s Centella & Niacinamide Sunscreen Review

I think silicone based sunscreens can provide sweat proof and water proof application for sunscreens. I love Derma Co Ultra Matte Sunscreen Gel and IPCA Acne UV gel sunscreen, now adding Dr. Sheth’s Centella & Niacinamide Sunscreen to my list of favourites. If I have to keep on purchasing sunscreens without any choice it has to be these three sunscreens.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The sunscreen is housed in a squeeze tube with flip top cap. The packaging is travel friendly and spill proof. The consistency is soft, rubbery kind of cream. The texture is that of a silicone based sunscreen. Nonetheless I love the texture for my oily, acne prone skin. The product has a clinical fragrance to it which isn’t even noticable while applying.

My experience with Dr. Sheth’s Centella & Niacinamide Sunscreen

The sun protecting agents in the sunscreen are Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Titanium Dioxide, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine. It’s a hybrid sunscreen without any white cast.

The sunscreen has an oil free formulation and is silicone based. Oil free, silicone based sunscreens work good for my oily, acne sweat prone skin. The sunscreen spreads easily across the skin and blends into the skin with ease. Whenever I apply silicone based sunscreens, I apply them in just one direction instead of rubbing in two opposite directions across the face.

After blending, the sunscreen gives a pore blurring effect and makes the skin look even toned and smooth. It gives a mattifying and acts like a primer. The sunscreen works good throughout the day (I don’t reapply my sunscreen) without causing any oiliness and greasiness on the face. I have experienced almost zero sweating while using the sunscreen. The sunscreen works good with layering of a hydrating, light weight moisturizer or a serum. I wait for the serum or moisturizer to sink into the skin before applying the sunscreen.

In my opinion, the sunscreen will work good for all skin types. Dry and normal skin types will have to use a hydrating moisturizer or serum before applying the sunscreen. The sunscreen needs oil cleanser at the end of the day, since it is silicone based. I haven’t faced any acne or pore clogging while using the sunscreen. Additionally , it doesn’t irritate my eye area whenever I apply it near my eyes.

However, while using this sunscreen, I was also using another sunscreens. So this was kept unused for a long time, and when I started using it again, it is oozing out a lot of oil from the tube. So don’t keep the tube unused, finish it ASAP once you open the tube.
