Give me an oil free moisturizer and I will never ask for any other moisturizer. My skin has seen remarkable improvement after switching to oil free face products. When Foxtale launched their oil free moisturizer, I grabbed it in B2G4 offer from the brand’s website. I am on the verge of emptying the product so posting a review for you all.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance
The packaging is a tub with a screw top and has an inner lid as well. It’s plastic and big 100g tub and the inner lid does feel messy at times especially when you are in a hurry. The texture of the oil free moisturizer is fluffy gel with a slight blue hue. The consistency is like an aloe gel however it even lighter than it. The product contains IFRA certified fragrance. When I started using the product the fragrance felt bothering at times, but as I am about to hit the bottom of the product the fragrance feels negligible. It fades over a period of time of 2-3 months.
Price, Shelf life and Availability
395 INR for 100g with a shelf life of 2 years from date of manufacturing. Available on Foxtale website, Nykaa and Amazon
My experience with Foxtale Oil Free Moisturizer
As mentioned above the texture is lighter than aloe gel and it does have dimethicone in it which makes it a little slippery gel. If you apply normal quantity as you would usually with any other moisturizer, then it is easily absorbed into the skin and doesn’t feel like you have applied anything. As you start applying the product onto the skin it turns into slightly runny texture and spreads easily and gets absorbed. It does make the skin soft, a little smooth but doesn’t plump it up. The best part is the affordable price, you can easily get it under 300 INR for 100g. The tub will easily last you 3-4 months.
The product cannot be used in excess as it forms a layer that just sits on the skin and doesn’t work well in skincare layering too. Whenever I use any serum and this moisturizer in my night time routine, the next day while washing off my face I can feel the moisturizer layer on my skin.
I have tested the hydrating effects of the moisturizer by using it as a standalone product in my morning routine and I feel it provides around 4-5 hours of hydration. However, at the end of the day it doesn’t make my skin oily at all not even on the t-zone. Usually if the skin’s hydration levels are good then it is less greasy, less oily. This moisturizer sufficiently hydrates the oily skin without feeling heavy or clogging the pores. Whenever I use this moisturizer in my routine I notice how my pores don’t increase in size or even my whiteheads are not that prominent.
The product however has a fragrance and colour and may or may not suit sensitive skin. You will have to test the product on your sensitive skin to see if it suits you. The fragrance fades considerably once you use the product daily.
Summing Up!
Foxtale Oil Free Moisturizer can be termed as an affordable option for day to day use for oily, acne prone skin. It keeps the skin hydrated without clogging the pores and helps in minimising them. I have used many oil free moisturizers available in India and this one comes as an average. The affordable price, is something I like about this moisturizer especially if you are on a budget. If you are looking for an oil free moisturizer in India, then give this one a try. It is a good pick for the oily acne prone skin for day to day use.
