Dove Beautiful Curls Deep Moisture Miracle Hair Mask Review

If there is one haircare mistake I have made, then it has to be not using a hair mask or a conditioner. I was intrigued by the Dove Curly hair mask and immediately bought it. I have used this hair mask for more than 6 months and I am about to empty it soon. Hence I thought of a posting a review of the Dove Beautiful Curls Deep Moisture Miracle Hair Mask.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance 

It is available in a plastic tub with a golden screw lid, which makes it easy to scoop out the desired amount of product. Tub is huge being 300ml but is sturdy and leak proof making it travel friendly. The hair mask has a silky, creamy, thick consistency and is white in color. It spreads easily through the hair strands and doesn’t feel greasy when you apply. The product has a nice fragrance which feels good.

My experience with Dove Curly Hair Mask 

The hair mask is designed for curly, wavy hair but it will suit all hair types by adjusting the quantity we apply. The brand has mentioned it to use as a conditioner after shampoo, but I tend to use it as a pre shampoo hair mask.  I usually keep the mask for around 30 minutes before I wash it off. It gives me defined curls whenever I use it as a pre shampoo hair mask and it also doesn’t weigh down my fine, curly hair. I have also used it as a conditioner after shampoo but it tends to weigh down my hair in a matter of two days.

While the hair mask consistency is thick, I scoop desired amount and whip it up with some water for a hydrating yet non weighing down formula. This not only helps the hair to stay soft but you also save on the quantity of the hair mask. The best part about the hair mask is the fragrance and the ease with which it gets washed off without any greasy residue. 

The hair mask softens, smoothens and gives defined curls with regular use. But if you are planning on following a curly hair routine, this alone won’t suffice as a post shampoo conditioner. You may need additional hydrating and curl setting products.

Summing Up

Dove Curly hair mask makes my hair smooth and easy to manage. Its ability to fight frizz is good, however in humid weather you may need additional products. This has significantly enhanced the beauty of my curly hair. I would say it is one of those must have hair masks for your hair no matter what your hair type is. It’s versatility to be used as a conditioner or a hair mask is good. With regular use it may weigh down the hair for fine hair types, so try some clarifying shampoos in between.
