I bought Conscious Chemist Cleansing Oil last year due to the ultra light claims made by the brand. The cleansing oil indeed was light weight but had a kerosene kind of smell and stung the eyes badly while trying to remove the eyeliner or kajal. After much feedback, the brand changed the formulation that does not sting the eyes, has pleasant fragrance but is pretty thick in nature. Let us dive into the Conscious Chemist Cleansing Oil Review.
Brand Claims

This oil cleanser melts away makeup and dissolves impurities, leaving your skin clean, soft, and radiant. It turns to a soft foam when dabbed up with water. Packaging, Texture and Fragrance
The product is packed in a pump up bottle. The dispenser has another plastic cap to protect it. The pump packaging works pretty well and is travel friendly. The product has a very, very light yellow tinge to it. After dispensing the product, it looks colourless. The cleansing oil has a runny texture and thick consistency. While working up on the face while removing BB cream I find it a little difficult to massage it. The product has a very pleasant and natural fragrance that is not lingering and bothering at all. The product is fragrance free and the fragrance is as a result of formulation.
My experience with Conscious Chemist Cleansing Oil
As you can see from the ingredient list the cleansing oil contains some oils that are thick in consistency. It takes a little effort to spread and work upon the cleansing oil on my oily and acne prone skin. It does break down the sunscreen and/or BB cream fully and deep cleanses the skin. Once you start massaging the oil, it will feel a little hard to work upon, but try to maintain a light hand. I need about 3-4 pumps if I am using it on the neck and throat area.
The oil emulsifies well with lukewarm water and leaves a little residue when washed off with normal water. But I still use a light foaming cleanser after emulsifying it. I have also tried it near the eye area and it does not sting even a bit if it enters the eyes. However after emulsifying the oil it may make the eyes uncomfortable if it enters the eyes. Make sure to rinse your eyes thoroughly well if the emulsification enters the eyes.
I find it a task to use this product on a daily basis for my double cleansing routine. The cleansing oil does leave my skin smooth and plump while diminishing the appearance of whiteheads effectively. It not only provides a deep cleanse but also makes the skin feel clean, bright and radiant. But I constantly need to maintain a light hand while massaging the product. On some occasions I experience small zits due to the friction of excess massage. I even tried to use more oil to make massage easy but then the product leaves more oily film post emulsifying.
The product is a budget friendly skincare product that will work good for dry to normal skin types. I am not much into makeup so won’t be able to comment on how it fares with heavy make-up removal.

Conscious Chemist Cleansing Oil Review
It is a cleansing oil that is more suitable for dry to normal skin types instead of all skin types. The product removes sunscreen and makeup effectively while leaving the skin smooth, soft and hydrated. However I find the consistency a little thick and one needs to use a light hand while using. The cleansing oil doesn’t cause any acne or clogged pores for my oily skin. The product is fragrance free, affordable and good for daily use if you have dry to normal skin types. I have found a good cleansing balm as well as cleansing oil from other brands so I won’t be repurchasing this product.
