The Derma Co. 15% AHA + 1% BHA Beginner Peeling Face Solution Review

Last updated on 16 December, 2023

I was looking out for a higher concentration of AHA BHA exfoliator as the Plum chemical peel was too mild to notice any visible effects. I bought the Derma Co 15% AHA + 1% BHA solution and am penning down my review after months of usage.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The product is packed in a dropper glass bottle. The packaging is easy to use but one needs to be very careful. The product is wine in color and has acid kind of fragrance especially like some fermented concoction. It has watery texture and consistency is runny. It is easy to spread the solution on the face but one can only apply a thin layer due to it. The quantity applied per use depends on how well your skin can tolerate AHA BHA exfoliator.

Derma Co Chemical Peel Review

My experience with Derma Co. 15% AHA + 1% BHA Beginner Peeling Face Solution

The product has a watery texture that makes it tricky to apply in a uniform layer on the skin. This product is a part of my evening routine and I usually apply it in the evenings. On applying this peeling solution to my face for the first time, initially, I didn’t feel any tingling sensation, but after a few seconds my face started tingling a bit. I immediately washed it off without a second thought.

Next time onwards the solution felt a little uncomfortable initially and later on as my skin got used to it, I didn’t feel any tingling sensation. After keeping it for some 10 minutes, I washed off with plain water and moisturized after that.

The peeling solution reveals soft, bright and smooth skin after washing off. It works on whiteheads upto a certain extent and I didn’t see any noticeable difference in my blackheads. However, the peeling solution reduces the appearance of pores drastically with regular use. I sometimes experience small zits on my cheeks which if ignored turn into cystic or under the skin acne. Ever since I started using this product I haven’t experienced any acne on my cheeks. The product effectively unclogs the pores and exfoliates the skin to help keep acne at bay. If you follow double cleansing regularly then this peel will be able to give you amazing effects in terms of pore reduction and reduced appearance of blackheads.

On some occasions I did experience a slight purging on my skin. This peel is definitely not beginner friendly. If you use little quantity it may feel as if it isn’t working. But if you use an extra quantity to make it work magically, you may end up with some purging and zits here and there on your face.

The Derma Co. 15% AHA + 1% BHA Beginner Peeling Face Solution Review

This peeling solution is suitable for those looking for to refine skin texture, reduce pores, acne and blemishes. I noticed good results with the peeling solution in the form of reduced occurrence of acne, pore size as well as appearance of blackheads. The product lasts a lot longer than thought due to the watery texture. However this is not a beginner friendly concentration as it purges for a few times before getting used to it. People with all skin types except sensitive skin can use it.
