The mask has a full plastic packaging. It is accompanied by a small plastic spatula for applying the mask. The jar is quite light weight inspite of the fact that it appears big. The mask doesn’t have an overpowering fragrance as such and is ashen in colour. It has a good consistency, neither thick nor runny, just perfect for ready to use face masks. It spreads easily across the face and one can easily use finger for the application. The face mask doesn’t dry up quickly since it contains humectants.

The Derma Co 2% Salicylic Acid Clay Face Mask Review

Firstly it is a clay based mask and contains BHA for exfoliation purpose. So it’s a 2-in-1 kind of product containing clay as well as BHA. Since both products can be drying for skin, one must pay special attention to the frequency and quantity of the face mask. Also while using the face mask avoid using retinoid, retinol, AHA and other actives in your skincare routine for one day or the next day.

The brand has already made the formulation non drying. I quite like such masks which don’t dry up quickly upon application as they work upon the skin for little longer and are safe to use during winters.

Let’s talk about the efficiency or effects of the mask. Since it’s a clay and BHA based mask, it reduces the whiteheads drastically and imparts smooth and plump skin. Salicylic Acid is an oil-soluble ingredient hence it can penetrate deep into the pores of the skin. It is also an exfoliant so it removes dead skin cells and excess oil. This is what makes the Derma Co Salicylic Acid Face Mask unique in terms of efficiency.

The face mask tingled me a bit when I first applied the mask and I did feel a little bit of dryness. Later on it neither tingled nor dried out my skin. One can usually apply a thin layer and then check the thickness as per the tolerance of the skin.

With each application of Derma Co Salicylic Acid Face Mask the whiteheads reduce and sebaceous filaments reduce drastically in terms of appearance. I usually apply the mask twice a week when am using a cream based moisturizer and once per week when am using an oil free moisturizer. The face wash gives a nice glow to the skin and makes it bright, clean and soft. I felt as if it literally revitalized my skin.

The face mask also works good when you use it in Fiddy Snail’s Deep Pore cleansing method. It is a clay + BHA (step 1 + step 2) so you can apply the mask and then wash it off to proceed with the third step of Fiddy Snail’s method.

I tend to follow Fiddy Snail’s method once in 15 days and I no longer suffer from whiteheads even if I use a cream based moisturizer on a regular basis. I was using oil free moisturizers all these months to keep my whiteheads at bay, only to realise that consistent use made my skin slightly dehydrated.

Derma Co 2% Salicylic Acid Clay Face Mask Review

Derma Co Salicylic Acid Face Mask is a good product for acne prone skin to keep acne as well as whiteheads at bay with regular use. It has clay as well to detox and revitalize the skin along with preventing acne and maintaining the skin texture. The clay mask can be little drying for some people but that’s nothing a good moisturiser can’t fix. I would say this is a must have face mask if you have oily, acne prone skin. Just get it!! It can be termed as best clay mask in India.
