MamaEarth Natural Radiance Day Cream Review

Oily and acne prone skin has always made me stay away from any sorts of day cream. However I was intrigued by the radiance claims of the MamaEarth Natural Radiance Day Cream and after reading a suggestion from Hiral I simply picked up this last year. Let’s see if this is good for my oily and acne prone skin or not. The brand does not claim it to be best skin whitening cream.

Mamaearth Natural Radiance day cream is a light weight and non – greasy daily moisturizing day cream. It’s fast absorbing formula binds moisture to skin for all day hydration for softer, smoother and healthier skin with no after use white cast. It deeply penetrates the skin not making your skin feel oily or sticky. SPF 20 helps protect skin against damaging sun exposure and UVA / UVB rays. Moringa oil and Rice Bran Oil together shields the skin from harmful pollutants and sun rays. Pomegranate oil hydrates and maintains moisture in the skin for up to 24 hours. The cream is free from all harmful toxins such as parabens, mineral oil, silicone etc.

MamaEarth Natural Radiance Day Cream Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

The day cream is packed in a pump up bottle which works nicely to dispense the cream. The packaging is travel friendly and quite tough. I have dropped the bottle often and it has been intact without any damage. The texture of the is cream sort which isn’t much emollient. It gets dispensed out from pump easily, however if you keep the cream as is for many months without using, the cream at the mouth of dispenser hardens  I had to use a tooth pick to clear the hardened cream. The fragrance of the cream is a bit raw and not so pleasing. I don’t mind the fragrance much as it doesn’t linger.

MamaEarth Natural Radiance Day Cream Experience

I bought the cream last year and forgot to use it. So I again started to use it during the month of May 2020 keeping in mind the SPF, however I experienced some sweating. So I thought of using it during the monsoon and winter.

The cream spreads easily on the skin however takes time to get absorbed into my oily and acne prone skin. After massaging it with light strokes it doesn’t give any sticky feeling although it is not light weight. I constantly felt as if a layer of cream was applied on my skin. The brand has mentioned to use only pea sized amount and I used exactly that amount, which is one pump for face and another one for neck and throat area.

The cream doesn’t make me sweat during monsoon and I think it will be more useful during the winters, let me tell you why? On using the day cream regularly for two week I experienced some white heads on the sides of my both cheeks. After another two weeks it clogged my pores and gave me one small acne on my cheek and one small cystic acne. Since I regularly use a Plum Green Tea night gel, my cystic acne is in check.

The skin does feel as if something has been applied on the skin, it isn’t a light weight day cream so oily skinned beauties definitely need to give a break in between while using the MamaEarth Natural Radiance Day Cream. The cream does hydrate and moisturize the skin well and I also didn’t find any greasy feeling after 8 hours of usage. After 8 hours I feel the need to wash my face. The cream does make the skin soft and smooth with regular use. If you are going to use the cream in excess keeping in mind the SPF claim, please don’t do so. Any SPF needs to be a minimum of SPF 35 to keep the skin protected. So using this cream as a substitute of sunscreen is a big no for me.

I would say the MamaEarth Natural Radiance Day Cream is more suitable for normal to combination skin types rather than all skin types. It has a medium consistency texture which will be little light weight for dry skin and a bit heavy for oily, acne prone skin type. If you have oily skin and still want to use the day cream, then I would suggest you to give this a try in the upcoming winters and give a break in between as it might clog the pores.

I would say that the day cream is suitable for normal to combination skin types. It is definitely not meant for oily skin types. Regular usage increases the whiteheads and cystic acne too for my acne prone skin. It would be a best bet to use in winters by oily skin. However SPF 20 is not sufficient for sun protection so don’t use this day cream instead of a sunscreen. The day cream can be used if you are staying at home and want moisturization for the skin.
