iTokri Shopping Experience and website Review

In these tough times, we are compelled to shop online for a few things as staying home is the best way to safe guard yourself as well as others. There is also a limitation of how much we can order online. It sometimes becomes difficult to find all things at one place such as crockery and apparels?

How nice it would be if we could shop for our needs from one place? One such website which literally stocks up everything from apparels to personal care products is iTokri. Let us first see what is iTokri all about!

About iTokri.com

iTokri.com celebrates creativity and conversation from villages, small towns, and from metros online! Many small communities of friends and co-travellers have been working, playing, thinking, being, doing together many “New Indian Aesthetic” things and processes. At iTokri.com we shall understand and share their stories and experiences being a community website with design/craft stores, vibrant stories, narratives, documentaries, activism, music, blog.

iTokri.com would also bring together many innovative design and craft businesses in India who need a logistic center thus building a store, which understands Indian shopping sensibilities, and develop a creative and sustainable model for craftspeople on the other hand.

My shopping experience with iTokri

The website is mobile friendly, loads pretty fast and layout is simple. The shopping cart is powered by Shopify and payment is powered by Razorpay and you can pay via debit card or credit card. They have other payment options as well. One thing which I really liked is you can even pay via a Direct Bank Deposit by NEFT/RTGS which requires a confirmation from the website for order and then you can transfer the money. Upon reconciliation from the website your order is shipped. Best part is they also ship internationally (although check the website for any limitations due to covid) and accept PayPal for the same.

While I was browsing the website for buying the handmade soaps, I could not see the Sign Up section in my checkout process itself. I was too hesitant to go back, register and then checkout my order. However I just proceeded with Guest Checkout and did not face any problem whatsoever with my order processing. I received time to time update of my order via email as well as SMS. Later on, I found the Sign Up option in the left hand side menu of the website and I registered my account.

The colour scheme of the website is Indigo Blue background with white text which I found a little hard to browse as I had to properly read and search the text, Personally I prefer a white background theme with black text so that it is easy to read. Although the brand has this colour scheme keeping in mind the artisan products theme.

The website offers a myriad variety of products from apparels to home decor, from personal care products to jewellery. They even have footwear, stationary, kids stuff, bags and much more. You will be spoilt for choices while browsing. I am attaching a screenshots of the menu bar of the website for you to check it.

I shopped for some handmade soaps from Neev brand. As you all already know the golden rule of sanitization these days is frequently washing our hands with a soap. The soaps are amazing and made with emollient butters and nourishing carrier oils. They absolutely do not make the hands dry even with frequent cleansing.

I also received a cute note and a plantable notepad with my order since it was my first time ordering. The diary is so cute and the handwritten note really melted my heart.

While browsing the website what really caught my attention was the Kantha Embroidered Cotton Palazzos from Bengal. The embroidery and colours available in palazzos are simply amazing. I would really like to buy some kaftans or running dress materials from the website.

Overall speaking my shopping experience was hassle free and good. As mentioned earlier, I had made a guest checkout on the website which left me worried. But once my order was delivered I registered my account and my order is being reflected in my account which I totally didn’t expect. Do check out iTokri.com if you like shopping online.

*I was provided a shopping voucher to pen down my honest shopping experience.
